Follow our comprehensive guide to The Sinking City 2's 'A Frosty Welcome' mission, detailing key evidence, optional objectives, and NPC interactions for a smooth playthrough.
Walkthrough
- 1The 'Charon' Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect key evidence: your belongings on the table (briefcase containing the Letter from J. van der Berg), the Camera, and the Pistol. To collect the Pistol, examine its handle by rotating it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears and pressing X. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
- 2Additional Evidence on Ship: Use the Camera to photograph the mounted fish (Photo of a trophy plate) and examine the flyer on the desk (Flyer).
- 3Lootables: Search the locker to the right of the desk for randomized ammunition and crafting materials. Lootable objects can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
- 4Conversation with Johannes van der Berg: After collecting your belongings, climb onto the dock (Triangle). Choose the dialogue options: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and "Goodbye." Selecting "I need somewhere to stay" and "Goodbye" will advance the game and lock out other dialogue branches.
- 5Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign. Climb the stairs to initiate a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 6Conversation with Robert Throgmorton: To advance the game, select: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and "I'll be going." Other dialogue options are optional.
Optional Investigation: Titania Lifeboat
- Accessing the Lifeboat: Return to the sign pointing to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
- Evidence in Lifeboat: Inspect the Lifeboat Name ('TITANIA'), examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate), and collect Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat. You may need to climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle). Be aware that looking at the diving helmet drains sanity.
- Reward for Optional Investigation: Completing this optional investigation grants an additional 140 XP and unlocks an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.

- Consider investing a Skill Point into 'Absolute Clarity' for a 5% XP bonus.
- Reload your equipped gun by holding L1, selecting the gun from the weapon wheel, and pressing Square.
- Lootable objects can be repeatedly searched for ammo and crafting materials.
