Complete walkthrough for 'A Frosty Welcome' in The Sinking City 2, detailing key evidence, optional investigations, and NPC interactions.
Walkthrough
- 1Collect Key Evidence on the Charon Ship: Your belongings (briefcase), the Letter from J. van der Berg, and the Camera are essential. To collect the Pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an eyeball symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
- 2Collect Additional Evidence on the Charon Ship: Use your camera to photograph the mounted fish (Photo of a trophy plate) and examine the flyer on the desk.
- 3Lootable Objects: Interact with lootable objects (marked with a specific symbol) for ammunition and crafting materials. These reset upon leaving and returning to the area.
- 4Talk to Johannes van der Berg: After collecting your belongings, climb onto the dock (Triangle) and speak with Johannes van der Berg. Select "About my problem," "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay," "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and "Goodbye" to advance the game. Note that choosing dialogue options closes off other conversation branches.
- 5Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier to a sign pointing to a bar and an exit. Turn right and go up the stairs to automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. Select "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and "I'll be going." to advance.
- 6Optional: Investigate the Titania Lifeboat: Return to the sign and go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. Collect the following evidence: Inspect the Lifeboat Name (TITANIA), examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate), and pick up Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat. You will need to climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle) for some items. This optional investigation grants 140 XP and unlocks an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 7Return to Robert Throgmorton: After finding Albert's Will, return to Robert Throgmorton to give him the will and unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
- If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. Use this sparingly as it consumes ammo quickly.
- Consider putting any free Skill Point from DLC into the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Reload your equipped gun by holding L1 to bring up the weapon wheel, selecting the gun, and pressing Square.
- Be cautious when examining the Diving Helmet in the lifeboat, as your sanity will drain over time.
Completing the main objectives progresses the story. Optional investigation at the Titania Lifeboat yields 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
