Complete walkthrough for 'A Frosty Welcome' in The Sinking City 2. Find key evidence on the Charon ship, interact with NPCs, and discover optional objectives like the Titania Lifeboat.
Walkthrough
- 1Charon Ship Investigation: As your first investigation area, you must collect key evidence. This includes your Letter from J. van der Berg (found in your briefcase), your Camera, and your Pistol. To collect the pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an eyeball symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
- 2Additional Evidence on Ship: Use your camera to take a picture of the Photo of a trophy plate (a strange fish mounted on the wall). Examine the Flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings.
- 3Lootables: Search the Locker to the right of the desk. Lootable contents are randomized and can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
- 4Speak with Johannes van der Berg: Exit the boat by climbing onto the dock (press Triangle). Initiate a conversation with Johannes van der Berg. To progress, select the dialogue options related to your problem, Robert Throgmorton, and needing a place to stay. Saying goodbye ends the conversation permanently.
- 5Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier. Turn right at the sign pointing to a bar and an exit. Go up the stairs to automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 6Robert Throgmorton Conversation: To advance the game, select dialogue options about his son's condition, the Innsmouthers, the visions, your ability to find Albert, and his request. Other dialogue options are optional.
- 7Optional: Titania Lifeboat Investigation: Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. Collect the additional evidence: inspect the TITANIA nameplate, examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate, be mindful of sanity drain), and pick up Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat.
- 8Return Albert's Will: After finding the will, return to Robert Throgmorton to unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
- The Submachine Gun and .45 ACP rounds are a reward for purchasing the Necronomicon Edition or DLC. Use the initial clip sparingly as .45 ACP rounds are scarce early on.
- Consider putting the free Skill Point (if received via DLC) into the Absolute Clarity Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects can be searched repeatedly and will reset if you leave and return to the area.
- The Titania Lifeboat is an optional investigation that provides extra XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton, but its evidence is not required for the main casebook.
- When examining the Diving Helmet at the Titania Lifeboat, be aware that your sanity will drain over time.
