Follow our detailed walkthrough for The Sinking City 2: Coverside West (5) to find all key evidence, complete optional objectives, and uncover the mysteries of this section.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
'Charon' Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect all key evidence to progress. Key evidence includes your belongings (briefcase), the Letter from J. van der Berg, the Camera, and the Pistol. To collect the Pistol, examine its handle by rotating it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears and press X. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your gun (equip and press Square).
  2. 2
Additional Evidence on Ship: Take a photo of the strange fish mounted on the wall using your camera. Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings. Lootable objects like lockers can be found and repeatedly looted for ammunition and crafting materials.
  3. 3
Conversation with Johannes van der Berg: After collecting your belongings, climb onto the dock (Triangle) and speak with Johannes van der Berg. Select dialogue options to advance the game: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye.". Be aware that choosing certain options closes off other dialogue branches.
  4. 4
Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the exit. Go up the stairs to automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  5. 5
Conversation with Robert Throgmorton: Select dialogue options to advance the game: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and finally "I'll be going.". Asking about the lifeboat's location is optional and will not be repeated.
  6. 6
Titania Lifeboat (Optional Investigation): Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. This is optional and does not add to your casebook, but grants 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
  7. 7
Evidence at Lifeboat: Inspect the lifeboat name "TITANIA". Rotate the Diving Helmet and search its front faceplate. Find Albert Throgmorton's will on one of the seats. You may need to climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle) to collect some evidence. Be cautious when examining the diving helmet, as it drains sanity.
Tips
  • If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. Use this sparingly as it consumes ammo quickly.
  • Consider investing an early Skill Point into the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable objects reset when you leave and return to the area, allowing for repeated collection of materials and ammo.
  • Be mindful of the sanity drain when examining the diving helmet at the lifeboat.
Completing all key evidence on the 'Charon' ship grants an additional 140 XP. Completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation also grants 140 XP and unlocks an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
