Navigate the ADVENT (Advent Central) (2) section of The Sinking City 2 with our comprehensive walkthrough, covering key evidence, optional objectives, and essential tips for a smooth experience.

Walkthrough:

1. The 'Charon' Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect all evidence to receive bonus XP.
   • Key Evidence:
     • Your belongings on the table (briefcase). This also grants the Letter from J. van der Berg.
     • Camera: A usable item for taking pictures as evidence.
     • Pistol: Pick it up, rotate to find an 'eyeball' symbol on the handle, and press X to examine. You receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Note: The gun is not loaded and requires reloading (equip via L1 weapon wheel, press Square).
   • Additional Evidence:
     • Photo of a trophy plate: Use your camera on the fish mounted on the wall.
     • Flyer: Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of the table.
   • Lootables: Objects marked with a specific symbol (e.g., a locker) can be searched for ammunition and crafting materials. These reset if you leave and return to the area. Be cautious, as abundant loot may indicate a more dangerous area.
   • Interact with Johannes van der Berg: After leaving the ship (press Triangle to climb the dock), you'll speak with Johannes van der Berg. Select specific dialogue options to advance the conversation: 'About my problem.', 'Where is Robert Throgmorton?', 'I need somewhere to stay.', 'How do I get to Devil's Reef?', 'Goodbye.'. Note that choosing certain options locks out others.
   • Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign. You'll automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. Select dialogue options like 'What happened to your son?', 'Who are the Innsmouthers?', 'What do you know about the visions?', 'I can try to find Albert.', 'Tell me more about the case.', 'I'll be going.' to progress.
   • Optional: Titania Lifeboat (Robert's Request): If you ask about the lifeboat location, return to the sign, go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. Collecting evidence here grants bonus XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
     • Additional Evidence:
       • Inspect the Lifeboat Name: TITANIA.
       • Diving Helmet: Rotate and examine the front faceplate. Be mindful of sanity drain while examining.
       • Albert Throgmorton's will: Found on one of the lifeboat seats.
   Tips

   • If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. Use this ammo sparingly as it depletes quickly.
   • Consider investing a Skill Point into Absolute Clarity for a 5% XP bonus.
   • Lootable objects can be repeatedly searched for resources.
   • Be aware that some conversations with NPCs have limited dialogue branches that lock out other options once selected.
   • The Titania Lifeboat investigation is optional but rewards extra XP.
   Collecting all key evidence on the 'Charon' ship grants an additional 140 XP. Completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation also provides bonus XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
