Alright, let's talk about the Expedition Headquarters. This place is pretty central to the story, and it's where the ill-fated expedition, including folks like Albert Throgmorton and Harriet Dough, was based. It's a two-story brick building with a basement, so there's a good bit to explore. Ground Floor When you first enter, you'll see a desk with some diving gear and artifacts. The door to the left has been kicked in – you can inspect the footprint on it. After that, you'll find a hallway leading to stairs. To the left of the hallway are some offices. On a desk in one of the offices, you'll find a book called 'Dangers of Diving'. Keep an eye out for a pile of papers and books on the floor nearby. If you use your Mind's Eye near them, you'll see some Omens (birds) that lead to an illusory wall across from the stairs. Behind that wall is another staircase going down to the basement. There's also a small boat hanging over the main stairs. Underneath the main stairs, there's a desk with more diving stuff and a briefcase you can loot. Upper Floor Once you head upstairs, you'll notice some massive bones hanging from the ceiling – definitely not from anything you've seen before. There's also an aquarium with murky water and some eels inside. To the right, there's a small area with a desk and a side table, both containing loot. You'll find a box of shells covered in a strange green mineral here. Charles Reed even comments on them, saying he's never seen anything like it. Behind the aquarium, there's a hole in the floor. Be careful, you could fall through and end up back in the office area below! Further on, near some boxed supplies and another desk, you'll find a crate to loot. To the left of the supplies, there's another section with a few desks. On one of them, you'll find a container of index cards with a document called 'Fishermen reports'. Also on this desk is a rock with a strange green-glittery interior that you can examine. On a smaller desk in the back of this area, you'll find a newspaper titled 'H. Dough, anthropologist'. Basement Down in the basement, you'll find some supplies and a couple of propellers. The rest of the basement is to your right. Watch out! As soon as you enter, there's an aggressive Innsmouther hiding behind some shelves at the back. Between two shelves, there's a large steamer trunk you can loot. Next to the trunk, there's a diving helmet with a broken window. Charles Reed notes that it's beyond repair. Near the stairs, there's a barrel covered in ash, and on the floor nearby is a paper called 'Partially burned cargo manifest'. Underneath the stairs is a small shower. You'll also see several statues of different sizes along the exterior walls.
