Walkthrough

    Upon arriving at the "Charon" ship, which serves as your first investigation location, collect your belongings from the table. This includes your briefcase, which contains a Letter from J. van der Berg, and your Camera.

    Examine the Pistol on the table. Rotate it until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle and press X to examine it. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Note that your gun is not loaded and requires reloading (hold L1, select gun, press Square).

    For additional evidence, use your Camera to take a photo of the strange fish mounted on the wall.

    Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of the table.

    Search the Locker to the right of the desk for ammunition and crafting materials. Lootable objects can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.

    Exit the boat by climbing onto the dock (Triangle).

    Speak with Johannes van der Berg. To advance the game, select the dialogue options: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye.". Be aware that choosing these options closes off other conversational branches.

    Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the exit.

    As you ascend the stairs, you will begin a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. To progress, select: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and "I'll be going.". Other dialogue options are optional.

    Optional Investigation: Lifeboat Titania

    Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat will be beyond police barricades.

    Inspect the "TITANIA" name on the Lifeboat.

    Examine the Diving Helmet. Rotate it and look at the front faceplate. Be cautious as prolonged examination drains sanity.

    Retrieve Albert Throgmorton's will from one of the seats inside the lifeboat (press Triangle to climb inside).

    Returning Albert's will to Robert Throgmorton unlocks an optional conversation.

  • If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and .45 ACP rounds. Use this ammo sparingly as it depletes quickly.
