Professor E. Westerbrook's research in Oakmont details the anatomy of Cocitians. The part resembling a head is actually their maw, equipped with extremely strong jaws. Their brain-like organ and hearts are located beneath what Westerbrook labels the "stomach sac".

This stomach sac is the central part of their digestive tract and comprises several stomachs that can enlarge significantly at will. Dissections have revealed human bones within these stomachs. Older Cocitian specimens possess the remarkable ability to shed their bone-filled stomachs and regenerate new ones.
