Navigate the Oakmont Police Department (8) in The Sinking City 2. Find key evidence, complete objectives, and uncover the truth in this detailed walkthrough.
Walkthrough
- 1Upon arriving at the Oakmont Police Department (8), locate and collect your personal belongings from the table. This includes your briefcase, which contains the Letter from J. van der Berg.
- 2Examine the Pistol to collect it. You will need to rotate it until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your weapon before use.
- 3Use your Camera to take a picture of the strange fish mounted on the wall for additional evidence.
- 4Examine the Flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings for more optional evidence.
- 5Loot the Locker to the right of the desk for ammunition and crafting materials. Lootable contents are randomized and can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
- 6After collecting the necessary evidence, proceed to the dock and speak with Johannes van der Berg. Select the dialogue options to advance the conversation: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye.".
- 7Follow the pier north and turn right at the sign pointing to the exit. Ascend the stairs to initiate a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 8During your conversation with Robert Throgmorton, select the following dialogue options to advance the game: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and finally "I'll be going.".
- 9For the optional Lifeboat Titania investigation: return to the sign, go left down a path, and then left towards the sea. You will find the lifeboat beyond police barricades.
- 10Within the Lifeboat Titania, inspect the "TITANIA" nameplate, examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate), and collect Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat. Be mindful of sanity drain when examining the diving helmet.
- 11Returning Albert's Will to Robert Throgmorton unlocks an additional conversation.
Tips
- If you purchased the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you will receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ABP rounds. Use this weapon sparingly as it consumes ammunition quickly.
- Consider investing your initial Skill Point into the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% bonus XP boost.
- Lootable objects can be repeatedly looted after they reset. Be cautious, as large amounts of loot may indicate a more dangerous area.
- The Lifeboat Titania investigation is optional but rewards 140 XP and unlocks an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- Do not hold the diving helmet for too long, as it will drain your sanity.
