Navigate the Oakmont Police Department (4) in The Sinking City 2. Find key evidence, complete objectives, and uncover the truth in this detailed walkthrough.
Walkthrough
- 1Upon entering the Oakmont Police Department (4), your primary objective is to locate and secure specific evidence.
- 2The first key piece of evidence is your own belongings, found on a table. Collecting your briefcase also yields a Letter from J. van der Berg.
- 3Locate the Camera, a usable item for taking pictures as evidence.
- 4Find the Pistol. Examine its handle by rotating it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears and press X. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Note that the gun is not loaded and requires reloading (L1 for weapon wheel, then Square).
- 5For additional evidence, use your camera to photograph the mounted fish on the wall.
- 6Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings.
- 7Lootable objects, marked with a specific symbol, can be found and searched repeatedly for ammunition and crafting materials. The Locker to the right of the desk is one such object. Lootable contents are randomized.
- 8After collecting the necessary evidence, exit the boat by climbing the dock (Triangle).
- 9You will automatically begin a conversation with Johannes van der Berg. To progress, select dialogue options related to your problem, Robert Throgmorton's whereabouts, finding accommodation, and the path to Devil's Reef, before saying goodbye.
- 10Proceed north along the pier to a sign with directions. Turn right towards the 'exit' and ascend the stairs to initiate a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 11During your conversation with Robert Throgmorton, inquire about his son's fate, the Innsmouthers, his visions, and offer to find Albert. Select 'Tell me more about the case' to receive Robert's Request. Conclude the conversation with 'I'll be going.'
- 12To undertake the optional Lifeboat Titania investigation, return to the sign, go left down a path, and then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
- 13In the Lifeboat Titania, inspect the 'TITANIA' nameplate.
- 14Examine the Diving Helmet, rotating it to find a search prompt on the front faceplate. Be mindful of sanity drain while examining the helmet.
- 15Retrieve Albert Throgmorton's will from one of the lifeboat seats.
- 16Returning Albert's will to Robert Throgmorton unlocks an additional conversation.
Tips
- Consider investing your first Skill Point into 'Absolute Clarity' for a 5% XP bonus.
- The Submachine Gun (if owned via DLC) consumes ammunition rapidly; save its initial clip for critical moments.
- Lootable containers may indicate the danger level of an area; larger supplies often correlate with tougher enemies.
- The Lifeboat Titania is an optional investigation that provides extra XP and an additional conversation, but its evidence is not required for the main casebook.
- The diving helmet in the lifeboat can drain sanity if held for too long.
