Find and collect the 'Small piece of paper' in The Sinking City 2. This guide details its location and significance within the game's narrative and gameplay.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Upon starting the game, you will find yourself on a ship. This is your initial investigation area.
  2. 2
Your primary objective is to collect your belongings from a table. This includes a briefcase.
  3. 3
Interacting with the briefcase will grant you the Letter from J. van der Berg, which is the 'Small piece of paper' in question.
  4. 4
Ensure you also collect the Camera and the Pistol from the table.
  5. 5
For the Pistol, you must pick it up, rotate it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle, and then press X to examine it. This also grants you 6 .38 pistol rounds.
  6. 6
After collecting your belongings, you can proceed to collect additional evidence:
  7. 7
Photo of a trophy plate: Use your camera to photograph the mounted fish on the wall.
  8. 8
Flyer: Examine the flyer on the desk next to your belongings table.
  9. 9
Lootable objects, such as lockers, can be found and repeatedly looted for ammunition and crafting materials. These are marked with a specific symbol.
  10. 10
After gathering the necessary evidence, exit the boat by climbing onto the dock using the Triangle button.
  11. 11
You will then engage in a conversation with Johannes van der Berg. Select dialogue options to progress the story and learn more about the world.
  12. 12
Following this conversation, proceed north along the pier to find Robert Throgmorton and continue the investigation.
Tips
  • The Submachine Gun and Skill Point are only available if you have purchased the Necronomicon Edition or associated DLC. If you have it, consider using the Skill Point on 'Absolute Clarity' for an XP bonus.
  • Remember to reload your pistol (L1 for weapon wheel, then Square to reload) before attempting to fire it.
  • The optional Titania Lifeboat investigation can be undertaken for extra XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton, but it is not required to complete the main case.
Collecting all key evidence in a location before concluding the case grants an additional 140 XP. Completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation also provides 140 XP.
