Follow our comprehensive guide to The Sinking City 2's 'A Frosty Welcome' mission, covering key evidence, optional investigations, and character interactions.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
The 'Charon' Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect key evidence: your belongings (briefcase), the Letter from J. van der Berg, the Camera, and the Pistol (examine the handle until the eyeball symbol appears, then press X). Additional evidence includes a photo of the trophy plate (use camera on the fish) and a flyer on a desk. Lootable objects like lockers can be repeatedly searched for ammo and crafting materials.
  2. 2
Exit the Ship: After collecting evidence, climb onto the dock (Triangle) to speak with Johannes van der Berg. Choose dialogue options to progress: "About my problem," "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay," "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye." Note that selecting specific options locks out others.
  3. 3
Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign. You'll automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. Key dialogue options to advance include: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert," "Tell me more about the case," and "I'll be going."

Optional Investigation: Lifeboat Titania

  1. Accessing the Lifeboat: Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
  2. Evidence: Inspect the lifeboat's name ('TITANIA'), the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate), and Albert Throgmorton's will (on a seat). You may need to climb into the lifeboat (Triangle) to collect items. Be cautious, as looking at the diving helmet for too long drains sanity.
  3. Reward: Completing this optional investigation grants 140 XP and unlocks an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
Tips
  • If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and .45 ACP rounds. Use these sparingly as they consume ammo quickly.
  • Consider putting your free Skill Point (if applicable via DLC) into the 'Absolute Clarity' Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable objects reset when you leave and return to the area, allowing for repeated collection of ammo and crafting materials.
  • Conversations with NPCs offer world-building but specific dialogue choices are required to advance the main quest.
Completing the main objectives of 'A Frosty Welcome' progresses the story. The optional Lifeboat Titania investigation provides additional XP and dialogue options.
