Complete walkthrough for 'A Frosty Welcome' mission in The Sinking City 2. Find key evidence, interact with NPCs, and uncover optional objectives.
Walkthrough
- 1On the ship, collect your belongings from the table. This includes your Camera and a Pistol. Examine the pistol by rotating it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle and press X to examine it. You will also receive a Letter from J. van der Berg when you take the briefcase.
- 2Use your camera to take a picture of the mounted fish on the wall (Additional Evidence).
- 3Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of the table (Additional Evidence).
- 4Loot the locker to the right of the desk for random ammunition and crafting materials.
- 5Exit the ship by climbing onto the dock using the Triangle button.
- 6Speak with Johannes van der Berg. To advance, select "About my problem," "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay," "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye." Choosing other dialogue options will lock you out of them permanently.
- 7Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign pointing to the exit.
- 8Speak with Robert Throgmorton. To advance, select "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert," "Tell me more about the case," and finally "I'll be going." Other dialogue options are optional.
Optional Investigation: Titania Lifeboat
- Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea.
- The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. Inspect the Lifeboat Name "TITANIA".
- Examine the Diving Helmet, rotating it to find a search prompt on the front faceplate. Be quick, as looking at it drains sanity.
- Find Albert Throgmorton's will on one of the seats inside the lifeboat.
- Returning the will to Robert Throgmorton unlocks an additional conversation.
Tips
- If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and 30 .45 ACP rounds. Use these sparingly as ammo is scarce.
- Consider putting your starting Skill Point into the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects (marked with a symbol) can be repeatedly searched for ammunition and crafting materials. Be cautious, as containers with more loot may indicate a more dangerous area.
- To reload your pistol, equip it via the weapon wheel (hold L1) and press Square.
- Completing the main objectives progresses the story.
- Collecting all evidence in a location grants an additional 140 XP.
- Completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation grants an additional 140 XP and an extra conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
