Complete walkthrough for Coverside East (4) in The Sinking City 2, detailing key evidence, optional items, and progression steps to help you navigate this section of the game.
Walkthrough
- 1Upon arriving at the "Charon" ship, which serves as your initial investigation location, collect your belongings from the table. This includes your Camera and the Letter from J. van der Berg (obtained by taking the briefcase).
- 2To collect your Pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Note that your gun is not loaded and requires reloading before use (equip via L1 weapon wheel, reload with Square).
- 3For additional evidence, use your camera to photograph the mounted fish on the wall (Photo of a trophy plate) and examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings (Flyer).
- 4Lootable objects, marked with a specific symbol, can be found and repeatedly looted for ammunition and crafting materials. The locker to the right of the desk is one such object.
- 5After collecting evidence, exit the boat by climbing onto the dock to your right using the Triangle button.
- 6Converse with Johannes van der Berg. To advance, select dialogue options related to your problem, Robert Throgmorton's whereabouts, finding a place to stay, and Devil's Reef. Saying goodbye concludes the conversation permanently.
- 7Proceed north along the pier to a sign with directions. Turn right towards the "exit" and ascend the stairs to automatically begin a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 8During your conversation with Robert Throgmorton, select dialogue options such as "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", and "Tell me more about the case." Selecting "I'll be going." ends the conversation.
- 9Optional Investigation: Lifeboat Titania
- 10Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat will be found beyond police barricades.
- 11Inspect the Lifeboat Name ("TITANIA").
- 12Examine the Diving Helmet, rotating it to search the front faceplate. Be brief, as prolonged examination drains sanity.
- 13Retrieve Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat inside the lifeboat. You may need to climb inside using the Triangle button.
- 14Finding Albert's Will unlocks an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
Tips
- The Submachine Gun and .45 ABP rounds are provided with the Necronomicon Edition or associated DLC. Use its initial clip sparingly due to its rapid firing rate.
- If you have a Skill Point from DLC, invest it in the "Absolute Clarity" Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects reset when you leave and return to the area, allowing for repeated collection of ammunition and crafting materials. Be cautious, as abundant loot may indicate a more dangerous area.
- The Lifeboat Titania investigation is optional but rewards 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
