Follow our comprehensive walkthrough for The Sinking City 2's 'A Frosty Welcome' mission. Find all key evidence, complete optional objectives, and learn about important characters.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
On the "Charon" ship, collect your key evidence: your belongings in the briefcase (which contains the Letter from J. van der Berg), the Camera, and the Pistol.
  2. 2
To collect the Pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an eyeball symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
  3. 3
Reload your gun by equipping it via the weapon wheel (hold L1) and pressing Square.
  4. 4
For additional evidence, use your Camera to photograph the mounted fish on the wall and examine the flyer on the desk.
  5. 5
Loot the locker to the right of the desk. Lootable objects can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
  6. 6
Exit the boat by climbing onto the dock (press Triangle).
  7. 7
Speak with Johannes van der Berg. To advance, select: "About my problem," "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay," "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye."
  8. 8
Proceed north along the pier to a sign with directions. Turn right towards the "exit" and go up the stairs.
  9. 9
Speak with Robert Throgmorton. To advance, select: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert," "Tell me more about the case," and finally "I'll be going."
Tips
  • Collecting all evidence in a location rewards an additional 140 XP.
  • The Submachine Gun (DLC) is powerful but consumes ammo quickly; save its clip.
  • Consider putting a free Skill Point (DLC) into Absolute Clarity for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable objects provide randomized ammunition and crafting materials and can be looted repeatedly.
  • If you ask Robert Throgmorton about the lifeboat's location, he will give directions but it won't be marked on your map.

Completing the main objectives and collecting key evidence allows you to progress the story. Optional evidence collection can yield additional XP and unlock further conversations.
