Guide for The Sinking City 2: Learn how to return to the Advent West phone booth and progress through the 'A Frosty Welcome' questline, including key evidence and optional objectives.
Walkthrough
- 1Upon starting, you are on the 'Charon' ship, which serves as your first investigation location.
- 2Collect Key Evidence:
- 3Your belongings on the table (essential to leave the ship).
- 4Letter from J. van der Berg (obtained by taking the briefcase).
- 5Camera (usable item to take pictures as evidence).
- 6Pistol (examine the handle by rotating it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears, then press X). You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your gun by holding L1, selecting the gun, and pressing Square.
- 7Collect Additional Evidence:
- 8Photo of a trophy plate (use your camera on the fish mounted on the wall).
- 9Flyer (examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings).
- 10Lootables:
- 11A locker is available to the right of the desk. Lootable objects can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
- 12Casebook Tasks: Letter from J. van der Berg
- 13Exit the boat by climbing onto the dock to your right (press Triangle).
- 14Automatically start a conversation with Johannes van der Berg. Choose dialogue options to advance: 'About my problem.', 'Where is Robert Throgmorton?', 'I need somewhere to stay.', 'How do I get to Devil's Reef?', 'Goodbye.'. Note that selecting 'I need somewhere to stay' and 'Goodbye' will advance the game and lock out other dialogue branches.
- 15Casebook Tasks: Find Robert Throgmorton
- 16Proceed north along the pier. Turn right at the sign pointing to the exit.
- 17As you go up the stairs, you will automatically begin a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. Choose dialogue options to advance: 'What happened to your son?', 'Who are the Innsmouthers?', 'What do you know about the visions?', 'I can try to find Albert.', 'Tell me more about the case.', 'I'll be going.'.
- 18Optional Tasks: Lifeboat Titania (Robert's Request)
- 19Return to the sign that pointed to the exit. Go left down a path, then left toward the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. This is optional and does not add to your casebook but grants 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 20Collect Evidence in the Lifeboat:
- 21Inspect the Lifeboat Name: 'TITANIA'.
- 22Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate). Be aware that looking at the helmet drains sanity.
- 23Albert Throgmorton's will (on one of the seats). You may need to climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle) to collect it.
- 24After finding Albert's Will, return to Robert Throgmorton.
Tips
- The Necronomicon Edition or DLC may grant a Submachine Gun and .45 ABP rounds. This weapon consumes ammo rapidly.
- A free Skill Point might be granted with DLC; it's recommended to invest it in the 'Absolute Clarity' Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable objects can be repeatedly looted after they reset. The amount of loot may indicate the danger level of the area.
- The conversation with Johannes van der Berg and Robert Throgmorton offers world-building and lore, but only specific dialogue choices are required to progress the main quest.
- The Lifeboat Titania investigation is optional but rewards XP and further dialogue.
- XP for collecting all evidence.
- XP for completing the optional Lifeboat Titania investigation.
- Access to further dialogue with NPCs.
