Walkthrough
- 1On the 'Charon' Ship: As your first investigation location, collect your belongings from the table. This includes the Letter from J. van der Berg, the Camera (used to take pictures as evidence), and your Pistol. To collect the pistol, pick it up, rotate it until an 'eyeball' symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine it. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your gun by holding L1, selecting the gun, and pressing Square.
- 2Additional Evidence on Ship: Use your camera to photograph the Photo of a trophy plate (a strange fish mounted on the wall). Examine the Flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings.
- 3Lootables: Search the locker to the right of the desk for ammunition and crafting materials. Lootable objects reset when you leave and return to the area.
- 4Casebook Task - Letter from J. van der Berg: Exit the boat by climbing onto the dock (press Triangle).
- 5Johannes van der Berg Conversation: After climbing onto the dock, you will automatically speak with Johannes van der Berg. To advance the game, select the following dialogue options: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally, "Goodbye.". Choosing "I need somewhere to stay" will lock out other dialogue branches.
- 6Casebook Task - Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier to a sign with directions. Turn right towards the exit and go up the stairs to automatically begin a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 7Robert Throgmorton Conversation: To advance the game, select: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and "I'll be going.". Other dialogue options are optional.
- 8Optional Investigation - Titania Lifeboat: Ask Robert Throgmorton about the lifeboat's location. Return to the sign pointing to the exit, go left down a path, and turn left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
- 9Evidence at Titania Lifeboat: Inspect the lifeboat's name (TITANIA). Examine the Diving Helmet, rotating it to search the front faceplate. Collect Albert Throgmorton's will from a seat inside the lifeboat. You may need to climb into the lifeboat (Triangle) to collect some evidence. Be aware that looking at the diving helmet for too long will drain your sanity.
- 10Return to Robert Throgmorton: After finding Albert's Will, return to Robert Throgmorton to unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
- If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and .45 ABP rounds. Use this weapon sparingly as it consumes ammo quickly.
- Consider investing a Skill Point into the Absolute Clarity Mind skill for a 5% bonus XP boost.
- Lootable objects can be repeatedly searched for ammunition and crafting materials.
- The Titania Lifeboat is an optional investigation that provides extra XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton, but its evidence is not required for the main case.
