Uncover the 'Breaking News' in The Sinking City 2 with our comprehensive guide. Learn about key evidence, optional investigations, and character interactions to progress.
Walkthrough
- 1On the "Charon" Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect key evidence: your belongings (briefcase containing the Letter from J. van der Berg), the Camera, and the Pistol. To collect the Pistol, examine its handle by rotating it until an eyeball symbol appears and press X. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Note that your gun is not loaded and requires reloading (equip gun via L1 weapon wheel, press Square).
- 2Additional Evidence on Ship: Use your Camera to photograph the mounted fish (Photo of a trophy plate) and examine the flyer on the desk (Flyer).
- 3Lootables: Search lockers for ammunition and crafting materials. These reset when you leave and return to the area.
- 4Exit the Ship: Climb onto the dock using Triangle.
- 5Conversation with Johannes van der Berg: You will automatically start a conversation. To advance, select: "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and "Goodbye." Choosing these options locks out other dialogue branches.
- 6Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign. Ascend the stairs to initiate a conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 7Conversation with Robert Throgmorton: To advance, select: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and "I'll be going." Other dialogue options are optional. Asking about the lifeboat location is a one-time opportunity.
- 8Optional: Titania Lifeboat Investigation: Return to the sign, go left down a path, and left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. This is optional but grants 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- 9Evidence in Lifeboat: Inspect the boat name "TITANIA", examine the Diving Helmet (rotate and search the front faceplate; prolonged examination drains sanity), and find Albert Throgmorton's will on a seat. Climb inside the lifeboat using Triangle to collect evidence.
- 10Return to Robert Throgmorton: After finding the will, return to Robert to unlock an optional conversation.

- Lootable contents are randomized and can be repeatedly looted.
- The Diving Helmet in the lifeboat drains sanity; do not hold it for too long.
- Collecting all evidence on the "Charon" ship grants an additional 140 XP.
- Completing the optional "Titania Lifeboat" investigation grants an additional 140 XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
