Learn how to find the Ransom Note in The Sinking City 2 with our comprehensive walkthrough. Includes item locations, tips, and strategies for success.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
    On the "Charon" Ship:
    • Collect your belongings from the table. This includes the Letter from J. van der Berg (by taking the briefcase) and the Camera.
  2. 2
Examine the Pistol: Pick it up, rotate it until an "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine. You will receive 6 .38 pistol rounds.
  3. 3
    Optional Evidence:
    • Take a photo of the trophy fish mounted on the wall using your camera.
  4. 4
Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of where you collected your belongings.
  5. 5
Lootables: Search the locker to the right of the desk for randomized ammunition and crafting materials. Lootable contents reset upon leaving and returning to the area.
  6. 6
Leaving the Ship: Climb onto the dock by pressing Triangle.
  7. 7
Conversation with Johannes van der Berg:
    • Select "About my problem.", "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay.", "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and finally "Goodbye." to progress. Note that choosing dialogue options locks out other branches.
  8. 8
Finding Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier, turn right at the sign pointing to a bar and an exit. Go up the stairs to initiate a conversation.
  9. 9
    Conversation with Robert Throgmorton:
    • To advance the game, select: "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert.", "Tell me more about the case.", and finally "I'll be going."
  10. 10
    Optional Investigation: Titania Lifeboat:
    • Return to the sign with directions. Go left down a path, then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades.
  11. 11
    Additional Evidence:
    • Inspect the lifeboat name "TITANIA".
  12. 12
Examine the Diving Helmet: Rotate it, look at the front faceplate, and search. Be aware that prolonged examination drains sanity.
  13. 13
Find Albert Throgmorton's will on one of the seats. You may need to climb inside the lifeboat (Triangle) to collect it.
  14. 14
Returning Albert's will to Robert Throgmorton unlocks an optional conversation.
Tips
  • The Submachine Gun (if owned via DLC) is powerful but consumes ammunition rapidly. Save its initial clip for critical moments.
  • Consider investing the free Skill Point (if applicable) into the Absolute Clarity Mind skill for a 5% XP bonus.
  • Lootable objects can be repeatedly searched for ammunition and crafting materials. Larger stashes may indicate a more dangerous area.
  • Climb to higher areas by pressing Triangle.
  • Optional conversations provide world-building but are not required for game progression. Make sure to select the correct dialogue options to advance the main quest.
  • Collecting all key evidence on the "Charon" ship provides an additional 140 XP.
  • Completing the optional Titania Lifeboat investigation grants an additional 140 XP and unlocks an extra conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
