Follow our comprehensive walkthrough for "A Frosty Welcome" in The Sinking City 2, detailing key evidence, optional investigations, and NPC interactions to guide you through the early game.
Walkthrough
- 1The "Charon" Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect all evidence to receive bonus XP.
- 2Key Evidence on Ship:
- Your belongings on the table (required to leave).
- 3Letter from J. van der Berg: Found in the briefcase.
- 4Camera: A usable item for taking pictures as evidence.
- 5Pistol: Pick it up, rotate until the "eyeball" symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine. You'll also receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Remember to reload your gun.
- 6Additional Evidence on Ship:
- Photo of a trophy plate: Use your camera on the fish mounted on the wall.
- 7Flyer: Examine the flyer on the desk.
- 8Lootables: Find and search lootable objects (marked with a specific symbol) for ammunition and crafting materials. These reset and can be looted repeatedly.
- 9Conversation with Johannes van der Berg: After leaving the ship, climb onto the dock using Triangle. Engage in conversation. Key dialogue options to advance are "About my problem," "Where is Robert Throgmorton?", "I need somewhere to stay," "How do I get to Devil's Reef?", and "Goodbye." Choosing "Goodbye" ends the conversation permanently.
- 10Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier and turn right at the sign. You'll automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton as you go up the stairs. Key dialogue options to advance include "What happened to your son?", "Who are the Innsmouthers?", "What do you know about the visions?", "I can try to find Albert," "Tell me more about the case," and "I'll be going." Choosing "I'll be going" ends the conversation permanently.
- 11Optional: Lifeboat Titania Investigation: From the sign, go left down a path and then left towards the sea. The lifeboat is beyond police barricades. This is optional but grants extra XP and an additional conversation with Robert Throgmorton.
- Additional Evidence in Lifeboat:
- 12TITANIA: Inspect the Lifeboat Name.
- 13Diving Helmet: Rotate and examine the front faceplate. Be mindful of sanity drain.
- 14Albert Throgmorton's will: Found on a seat.
- 15Return to Robert Throgmorton: After finding Albert's Will, return to Robert to unlock an optional conversation.
Tips
- If you own the Necronomicon Edition or DLC, you receive a Submachine Gun and .45 ABP rounds. Use this sparingly as it consumes ammo quickly.
- Consider investing a Skill Point into Absolute Clarity for a 5% XP bonus.
- Lootable containers can be reset by leaving and returning to the area.
- The Diving Helmet in the lifeboat can drain your sanity if held for too long.
