Follow our comprehensive walkthrough for "A Frosty Welcome" in The Sinking City 2, covering all key evidence, optional investigations, and NPC interactions to guide you through the early stages of the game.

Walkthrough:

  1. On the "Charon" Ship: This is your first investigation location. Collect the following Key Evidence:
    • Your belongings on the table (briefcase). This also grants the Letter from J. van der Berg.
    • Camera: A usable item for taking pictures as evidence.
    • Pistol: Pick it up, rotate it until an eyeball symbol appears on the handle, and press X to examine. You receive 6 .38 pistol rounds. Note: The gun is not loaded and must be reloaded (L1 for weapon wheel, Square to reload).
    Collect Additional Evidence:
    • Photo of a trophy plate: Use your camera on the strange fish mounted on the wall.
    • Flyer: Examine the flyer on the desk to the left of your belongings.
Lootable objects (marked with a specific symbol) can be searched repeatedly for ammunition and crafting materials. These reset when you leave and return to the area.
  2. Speak with Johannes van der Berg: After collecting your belongings, climb onto the dock (Triangle). Engage in conversation. To advance, select:
    • About my problem.
    • Where is Robert Throgmorton?
    • I need somewhere to stay.
    • How do I get to Devil's Reef?
    • Goodbye.
Note: Choosing specific dialogue options locks out others.
  3. Find Robert Throgmorton: Proceed north along the pier to a sign. Turn right towards the bar/exit. Go up the stairs to automatically start a conversation with Robert Throgmorton. To advance, select:
    • What happened to your son?
    • Who are the Innsmouthers?
    • What do you know about the visions?
    • I can try to find Albert.
    • Tell me more about the case.
    • I'll be going.
Note: Optional questions can be asked, but selecting
